Kadang-kadang saking sayangnya kita pada seseorang, yang mungkin lebih sering meyakiti hati kita, yang bisa kita lakukan hanyalah meyakinkan bahwa kita akan selalu berada dipihaknya, entah dia sedang hancur atau berada di puncak. Yang bisa kita tawarkan padanya adalah waktu dan segenap perhatian kita padanya, meyakinkan padanya bahwa semua baik-baik saja dan hal-hal buruk pasti akan lewat. Menurut ane itulah yang ingin disampaikan lewat lagu Oasis "Sad Song" yang ditulis oleh Noel Gallagher dan dinyanyikan oleh Liam Gallagher.

PS : sebenarnya lagu ini bukan ciptaan Pearl Jam sendiri... tapi ditulis oleh Wayne Cochran di tahun 1961. Dan, meskipun bernada ceria, kalau dicermati baik-baik liriknya, ternyata agak mellow juga, menurut ane.

I Am The Walrus music video

One of my favourite Beatles song. Tiba-tiba saja mau ngepost nih video. Mungkin gak ada salahnya ane bahas sedikit. Pertama kali kenal Beatles lewat lagu balladnya yang terkenal "Yesterday", karena suatu hari guru di tempat kursus Bahasa Inggris ane ngasi tau bahwa lagu itu tidak hanya salah satu lagu terbaik yang pernah ditulis, tapi juga John Lennon, si penulis lagu, mendapat inspirasinya lewat mimpi. Dahsyat. Sedangkan ane apa yang ane mimipiin tiap malam? Mimpi-mimpinya John Lennon memang berbeda ya...

Lalu seterusnya ane jadi suka lagu-lagu mereka. 

Lagu I Am The Walrus ditulis juga oleh John Lennon. Selain videonya yang nyentrik, kalau tidak dibilang aneh, liriknya juga sebenarnya tidak memiliki arti khusus. Bahkan lebih mirip gumaman orang mabuk. John Lennon mengaku inspirasi lagunya berasal dari karakter walrus dari puisi The Walrus and The Carpenter dari buku Through The Looking Glass karangan Lewis Carroll. Liriknya benar-benar tidak nyambung, tapi tetap saja musiknya yang bernada psychedelic terdengar unik. John Lennon memang tidak pernah mempermasalahkan makna lirik-lirik yang dia buat, dua baris pertama lirik I Am The Walrus : "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together. See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly" ditulis ketika John sedang high. Liriknya : "Mister City Policemen sitting, pretty little policemen in a row" mendapat inspirasi ketika ia suatu pagi mendengar sirene mobil polisi dari jendela. Kau bisa menebak lebih jauh orang macam apa John Lennon itu, kan? He's an eccentric guy, obviously.

Apapun itu maksudnya, listen to it, kids! Sometimes we just need to listen to the melodies, not only the lyrics.
